Whether you want to learn to skate, play hockey or figure skate, SkateQuest is the place to start! Designed for ages four through adult, the SkateQuest group lesson program will advance a skater to competitive levels.
Ice skating is a fun, athletic sport, and group lessons are the best way to start.
We offer something for everyone. Our ISI curriculum teaches the fundamentals, which allows the skaters to pursue Dance, Hockey, Pairs, or Figure Skating in the future.
We here at SkateQuest are committed to excellence.
All classes are a half hour and include skate rental and practice passes to be used during basic skills or public practice sessions.
What to Wear
All students should wear a jacket, gloves, and long pants (no jeans). Layers are always recommended as the rink is very cold. Helmets are recommended for anyone participating in Pre-Alpha 1 or 2 and any of the Star classes.
First Day of Class
Arrive 15 minutes early.
Pick-up skates at Skate Rental.
Pick-up basic skills passes at the Front Desk (passes may be used to practice on public skating or basic skills sessions.
Basic Class Descriptions
Pre-Alpha 1 (For ages 6 ½ and above) Designed for children who have never skated or have never had any formal lessons. Skaters will learn the proper way to fall down and get up. Skaters will also learn the following: marching in place, moving, pushing, and gliding, 2 foot hop, dips, forward swizzles, backward wiggles, short 1 foot glides, and an introduction to the snowplow stop.
Star 1 (For ages 6 ½ and younger) Skater will learn the proper way to fall down and get up. Skater will also learn standing and marching.
REFUND POLICY: There are no refunds. There are no credits. Upon signing up, if you know that you will miss some classes in the series, you may pro-rate over the phone or in-person. You must, however, submit the dates of absence at time of registration.
MAKE-UPS: Due to the number of skaters involved in the program, there will be no make-ups.
